I viewed Director Terrance Davies film, 'The Long Day Closes', and was very impressed with it as, (to me anyway), a sort of 'memory play', that doesn't come across as conventional story-telling. I looked up further titles of his and found 'Distant Voices, Still Lives' at a very reasonable price for the new 4-k transfer on Blu-ray. Not even listed at Netflix. The 6 reviews at Amazon are all 5-star and label it 'a masterpiece'. From what I gather, it's a further(?) continuation of Davies early life in Liverpool, long ago, before The Beatles ever came on the scene. About his family being very poor, and how it was existing, (for him), during these times. Starring the late, great Pete Postlewaite. I will probably order it to buy, but have any members here seen this film? Care to post your impressions of it? 'In memory, everything happens to music.' What a marvelous statement. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=et-x9DP56XE
