I would not be surprised if John Powell is the new "Star Wars"-Go-To-composer, after getting his blessings from the maestro.

I said elsewhere on the forum, that if he can channel the kind of writing he was doing on "SeaQuest", I'm all for some Debney on this!

SchiffyM: Why the sigh, Justin? (This is a serious question.)
Sigh. Okay. Well, it's sort of like Thor; I haven't enjoyed anything I've heard by him yet (especially that waste of time known as the "Black Panther" score), and nothing he's done says "Star Wars" music to me, especially the annoying use of synths. And when you consider the creator's working relationship with John Debney, it's an especially disappointing assignment. I get it -- perhaps Debney is busy elsewhere (like the second season of "The Orville"), or the creator (Jon Favreau) didn't have enough pull as the creator to chose the composer. But it doesn't cease my heavy sigh. And if you even ask me about the sigh that began this post, I'm gonna slap you with a wet noddle.
