18% approval...

This begs the question: What will Spring 2019 be like in the UK?

We are suppose to be in Paris in early May. I'm getting a little nervous about that trip.

Anticlimactic, I should think.

I’ll do my best, but if you want a guarantee, buy a washing machine.

The French are famous for taking it to the streets. Macron has already blinked first & postponed the fuel tax rises & he's due to address the French people this week. Meet the new boss, same as the old boss.

I'm still hoping that the "individual" that is most accountable for all the brouhaha we've been witnessing since 2015 will be s...ucked into a randomly appearing black hole as soon as possible and be gone forever. (And no, I don't mean Donald Trump.)

Being German, I feel the need to apologise to the other European countries that our present government is once again placing the continent in harm's way for no other reason as to crown themselves Kings of Supreme Morality. It would seem that for the third time in 100 years, Germany will be driving the European car into the muddy ditch.

Have any of Hollywood's elite Tweeted anything about the goings on in France? They usually love themselves a rebellion.

Only Pamela "Baywatch" Anderson has Tweeted about the Yellow Vests.

Couldn't find anything from the usual elitist suspects.

Actually Paris is a bit drab this time of year. I went there in February a couple of years ago (a Christmas present), it was dark, windy & it rained all the time. Go in the summer, it's lovely.

Come on, Rameau - it's so romantic the way the reflections of the burning cars twinkle in the riot shields.

My visit was in an August, and Paris was sunny, bright, and blue--and on the hot side. "Paris When it Sizzles" and all that rot. wink

The Christophe Honoré film Dans Paris shows how Paris looks in winter, and the city is what I would describe as "bleakly gorgeous." I found it was affecting my mood and pulling me further into this film. I would watch Dans Paris again just for those city scenes of Paris in wintertime.

I don't think any of us blames you, CK! Interesting that you see it in that way, though.

"Dan Paris" sounds like one of those multitudinous 70s cop shows you love so much.

Pam's analysis reminded me a bit of what my twelve-year-old nephew said after scanning one of our local newspaper's editorials for ten seconds.

That's why I rely on Alyssa Milano for my political analysis.

You likely won't either. They seem to save their best acrimony for the country that has made them the millionaires they are. "No walls, no walls! Except, um, of course for the ones around my mega-million dollar mansions, that is...and, no guns, either...except for those carried by my bodyguards."
