I am using the "Presidential" ring from OUR MAN FLINT [da-da-da da-da-da da-da-da da-da-dum] (which I got off of the ancient Tsunami CD of OUR MAN FLINT, IN LIKE FLINT and VON RYAN'S EXPRESS). But I get so few calls I've only heard it in a test call from my son. (We're cell phone luddites. We only have our cells on when we're out of the house, and as retirees we're not out that much.) Can anyone guess what Doug Fake's ringtone is? (I happened to hear it when I was in Intrada Towers .) The Good, The Bad, And The Ugly?

I use TWINE Gunbarrel as main ringtone now (once again - thanks to LLL - it's still my most often playing album!) Several years ago I used different versions of Doctor Who titles music for different contacts + TARDIS landing sound effect for SMS I had the Tardis sound effect for a while but I found it not loud enough whatever the volume was at. Thought about the FAFDM watch chime but a lot of folks had that.

I would never, EVER, use my favourite film music as a ringtone. First of all, it completely ruins my appreciation of the piece, second, it creates all kinds of new associations that are not wanted. I did have the opening brass riff of Oingo Boingo's "Dead Man's Party" as a ringtone back in the mid 2000s, but I had to remove it. It made me tire of the brilliant riff and song that it is, and it also made me look for my phone every time I played the actual song on my stereo. No, I'm perfectly fine with the normal iPhone ring tone. A phone is for phoning, music is for listening.

I stopped using film music as ringtones. It stopped me from answering the phone. :-) (Yes this happened) Mine is either the Enterprise ViewScreen ping from the original series or the sounds of the bridge of the USS Reliant.

One thing I found odd was when folks started using favourite music and sound sfx for alarm clocks! Cannot imagine anything worse. That is the one thing you're going to start hate pretty quickly. The thing that gets you up for work and wrench you out of comfort??? Don't get many people phoning me on my mobile so it's not a major problem. And I could never hate Stan and Ollie.
