Strange: no mention of Soundstage SCD 555 release, declared as “volume two” of GIANT?
I had even lost memory of this “boot” in my collection, and this thread urged me to control. Well. It also is reported on Soundtrack Collector, with over 63 minutes, all in mono, with some minor flaws.

Nobody knows where it came from. The notes, reliable or not, say: “Tiomkin had chosen additional selections for a possible Volume Two, but Capitol rejected the idea. This CD includes those selections while offering additional music that was deleted from the film or rejected and replaced with other music. None of this music duplicates anything on the Capitol album and should be listened in conjunction with Volume One”.

Remarkable the title version without choir. Sometimes I found vocals in Tiomkin’s compositions rather distracting, if not disturbing. In the case of “Red River” I found the title music on the IT prints of the movie, without choir, much more interesting.
