This is a great score and I too wish Broughton would get more A-list assignments.

I also rate this score very high... among Bruce Broughton's best efforts. Intrada has been very good about releasing BB's music, with at least one cd every year... so what will it be in 2004, Roger? And here's where I will repeat my plea for Bruce Broughton's Disney park music to be released -- it is some of the best work he has done! Cheers

Let me add my cry to the crowd--SOMEBODY EMPLOY THIS GUY! That every other action film gets a score by Graeme Revel, or Trevor Jones, or what ever synth-hack from Media Ventures while Bruce Broughton languishes in TV movies is just a crying shame. The Ignorant Producers/Directors Hall of Shame is full of under-used and way over-qualified composers like Broughton, Shire, Goldenberg, Poledouris, and, yes, even Joel McNeely. (I'm sure that last inclusion will result in some choice remarks, but, what the Hell!)

It doesn't matter what this score was written for. If ever an album held its own as a rigorous, exceptionally well-written score for a sci-fi action/adventure film, it's this one. It is one of the most astonishing three-week wonders in the history of scoring. If you love Bruce Broughton's other big and busy scores, or any big sci-fi blockbuster scores, this is one to have.
