I also like Dreamworks' music quite a lot. It's nice to have a studio logo with a less bombastic sound once in a while. Although I used to love Universal's logo a few years back.
I love the old UA slowly spinnimng logo with that slow burst of orchestal music.
That one was great and I liked the 90's UA theme that first appeared at the beginning of GoldenEye by Farodi/Pair.
The 20th Century Fox Studio music is a favorite of the older themes and I love that they still use it, and Goldsmith's Universal theme is my favorite of the more recent studio logos.
Excuse my ignorance, but which of Universal's logos had Goldsmith's music playing? The logo's appearance or a well-known film would help...
It's currently on any Universal film which doesn't have the movie's sound effects over it. It was first heard on Jurassic Park: The Lost World. You can also hear it on Far From Heaven and The Core.
Am I wrong or didn't Soundtrack.net used to have many of these themes available to listen to at their site? If it wasn't soundtrack.net then there was some place where you could sample these themes and now I can't find it.
My favorite is the Warner fanfare, not only because of the composition itself but because it was so malleable. It was performed in a variety of keys and orchestrations and it was included as an actual part of the film's Main Title.
Turner Classic Movies, on their Multimedia/Trailer page, has the trailer to THE GREAT LIE for viewing. This includes a unique rendition of the Warner Fanfare where it is actually resolved at the conclusion of the trailer.
Yeah, this is the one that gives me goosebumps. I almost fell out of my seat when I went to see TIME AFTER TIME when it came out and there was the old fanfare.
After Warners, no. 2 is Jimmy McHugh's Universal Trademark.
As I've stated previously, I always felt Columbia missed the boat by not using Tiomkin's fanfare music from MR. SMITH GOES TO WASHINGTON ("Columbia, Gem of the Ocean") as their regular trademark.
The 20th Century Fox Studio music is a favorite of the older themes and I love that they still use it, and Goldsmith's Universal theme is my favorite of the more recent studio logos.
I'm amazed it took eight posts for someone to mention Alfred Newman's Fox Fanfare.

I also love the Selznick International Pictures Logo found on The Spectacular World of Film Music performed by National Philharmonic Orchestra conducted by Charles Gerhardt.
Horner's French Horn solo for Imagine Entertainment is excellent.
20th Century Fox starts off every hour of my radio show!
Silvestri's Silver Pictures Logo is really good!
And Kamen's descending strings in the New Line Pictures logo is spine-tingling!
I would also have to vote for Alfred Newman's Fox fanfare Cinemascope Extension as my all time favorite movie company logo music -- accompanied by the old logo; I am not so keen on the swirly modern CG version.
I also always had a fondness for the Williams / Ladd Company logo at the beginning of "Blade Runner" -- all those slicing green lines building a tree, accompanied by muted horns, and then it credits 'Sir Run Run Shaw...' Eerie, and I don't recall seeing this with any other film.
