Oooo, those are good ones! Uhm, we listen to Disney soundtracks sometimes, as well as Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, Willy wonka, etc. and even Mighty Morphin Power Rangers. Yes, it's true...we are giant children. ------------------ Crusaders of Animation Scores deserving of a CD release! Join us NOW!

Sometimes it seems like I just don't feel like listening to more scores (especially when it seems I've heard the same ones over and over), so I--gasp--break out some of my other, non-film score CDs and give them a listen. But for me, I can give soundtracks a break and listen to something totally different, yet still maintains that soundtrack-like feel to it: anything and everything by New Age artist David Arkenstone.np CITIZEN OF THE WORLD (David Arkenstone)

I like the funky disco recording on Close Encounters Of The Third Kind. Ooh....I feel such a weight lifted off my shoulders to finally get that out in the open http://www.filmscoremonthly.com/board/smile.gif">

Sometimes I'll grab a pen or pencil and pretend I'm conducting the orchestra. But since I have no idea who to actually conduct, it mostly comes out just waving my hands in the air, following the pace and volume of the music. I know that's not right, though, as I'm seen footage of recording sessions, and the conductor's hands are sometimes moving slowly even though the music will be playing rather fast.np SPIRIT WIND (David Arkenstone; not just a fine New Age album, but a fine film score)

I have no Miklos Rosza in my collection, and the only Dmitri Tiomkin I have is the Silva rerecording of Dial M For Murder. Does this count as heresy?

I went to see KING SOLOMON'S MINES in the theater because it had a Goldsmith score.I also like the songs from MULAN.

I like the HAWK THE SLAYER score. Yes, disco beats and drum pads and all.

I used to get into HORRENDOUS arguments with my friend Brad over the quality of a James Horner score...now I just shrug and agree...I went to see MOM AND DAD SAVE THE WORLD and NOT WITHOUT MY DAUGHTER because they both had Goldsmith scores....I somehow made it through Not Without...but had to run screaming from the theatre for Mom and Dad (missed those INCREDIBLE end credits too...dammit...). I have the Virus complete score from Joel McNeely and I think it is absolutely WONDERFUL (although I didn't think it did much in the movie). THIS IS FUN!!! http://www.filmscoremonthly.com/board/biggrin.gif"> [This message has been edited by FilmMakerInSanDiego (edited 06 February 2001).]

I like the Mulan songs, too (particularly Honor to Us All). I also like the Lion King score, and I love the songs.I watched Air Force One on TV because of Goldsmith's great score (but I wouldn't do it again). This is indeed fun to read our confessions about our guilty pleasures. Glad to know Brad and Marian like the songs to Mulan. I do too, especially Be A Man. I find the whole movie endearing and funny.Other closets we wish would remain shut: I adore Rocky, a score I think many feel is mundane due to the fact it was embraced by the masses. (I was going to say embraced by regular, normal people which would place us irregular and abnormal. http://www.filmscoremonthly.com/board/wink.gif">) I love the main theme from Crimson Tide. I adore Goldsmith but can’t connect to Under Fire, one of his most heralded scores. I like MUSICALS. I like Barbara Streisand, so there! Can't stand Gone in 60 Seconds but like Remember the Titans and Deep Blue Sea. Here is the worst confession so far. I like those current male groups that appall so many of you like 98 Degrees, Backstreet Boys, and NSYNC. (Some call them Nsuck.) I can lose 5 pounds just watching those guys dance. http://www.filmscoremonthly.com/board/biggrin.gif"> (Am I banned yet???) [This message has been edited by joan hue (edited 06 February 2001).]

The only MULAN songs I like are "Honor To Us All," "A Girl Worth Fighting For," and "I'll Make A Man Out Of You." But I can't stand that one sung by 98 Degrees.

In a Los Angeles multiplex (the AMC Century City if you must know), I snuck from one theater to the next, just to hear the end credits AGAIN for MON AND DAD SAVE THE WORLD. It seemed that the album took MONTHS to come out. How long ARE those credits -- 11 or 12 minutes?More shameful confession: I actually LIKE the movie! The admittedly better GALAXY QUEST actually kyped at least one scene from it (the cute aliens turning out to be monstrous). Of course, I sneak from one theater to the next all the time, just as a matter of principle ... does that make me evil? I imagine so. http://www.filmscoremonthly.com/board/biggrin.gif">

Ah, the art of theater hopping. Man, I haven't practiced that in months and months. I used to do it all the time. If it was during the day, after the first show I would just sort of hangin around in the arcade until the next one started. It's actually quite exciting. You get to just sort of sneak around. It's almost like being a fugitive! http://www.filmscoremonthly.com/board/smile.gif"> hehe!As for end credits, I couldn't believe how long I had to sit through the end credits for the first SUPERMAN movie. I kept going, "Geez, is it over yet?" np U.S. MARSHALS (coincidently, after seeing this film on opening day, I then snuck immediately into DEEP RISING)
