Got this new remastered CD. However when compare to the previous Intrada release sound to me about the same. Not a complaint but maybe for the ones who have the old avoid buying the new one. Great score and marvelously recorded.
What?!! you dont notice the sound difference? I notice it on my cheep boom box. There is a big huge difference. I even did a cd to cd compairison. You hear everything right down to the little smaller (for lack of a better way to put it)sounds. Listen to it again, theres a difference. sd

I used to own the old version, I hear things in the new recording I never noticed before.
But then again, what do I know...I hear voices that tell me to paint my cat neon green
I have the original Intrada release - I'm sticking with that so I can put my money toward CD's that I don't have - also, I could always do my own "re-mastering" of the previous CD with my ACL 2005 audio software...

Well, personally, I'd rather have one remastered RAMBO III over 10 CDs that I don't have. It's that good.
Attempting to re-master the old disc yourself won't even come close to this new disc. Believe me, I tried it.
Another thing I'd like to point out -- and, YES, I know this isn't really a reason to rebuy but it might help some of the fence-sitters -- is that the art and packaging of the new Rambo III disc is just beautiful. Lightyears ahead of the older CD. This may not mean much to others, but I enjoy the aesthetics of a well-done disc's presentation almost as much as the music itself (which is why FSM's CDs are always such a joy -- probably the best-presented soundtrack CDs on the market).
I disagree. I've always felt the sound on the old Intrada wasn't the greatest. This new version is MUCH more clear and significantly louder. Hearing "Night Fight" in all it's glory is worth the price alone.

I just bought "First Blood" and "Rambo III" (both from Intrada). I also recently picked up the blu-ray boxset of the Rambo trilogy. Having watched "Rambo III" for the first time then reading the liner notes in the Intrada release, I noticed the reference to the fact that a lot of the actual recorded score was not used in the final film, with a lot of tracked music from Rambo: First Blood, Part II. I would have loved it if the notes had been more extensive and provided more detail.
Does anyone know if there is an analysis of the score with a rundown of what music is tracked etc. I remember seeing something similar for "Iron Eagle" on the FSM website whereby it listed the use of all songs / score.
MAF 7094 Thanks for answering that Wedge. I should have included that in my original post. I'm hoping someone has more info regarding the score. I haven't had chance to listen to it all yet but I really like the opening titles.
Thank You, that's the release I have. It's strange nowhere on the packaging does it say what year the cd was released (I'm assuming this was released after the 1989 date on the back cover).
