I note from the Cinemusic website that a link to Amazon lists a late July release of Clint Mansell's score to Sahara. I thought it was a really entertaining popcorn film with appealing leads. The score crept up on me as I watched the film, and I found myself really enjoying it.I did not have high expectations for the music prior to entering the cinema as Clint Mansell has previously been assigned to films far removed from the needs of an action/adventure.If indeed the release is forthcoming, it is a score that in my opinion will have a wide appeal to many fim music consumers.
Yeah, I was surprised by the score and thoroughly enjoyed it. I looked for an album after seeing the film but found nothing. Only yesterday did I find a song score album with only one cue "Boat Montage" by Clint Mansell.
A good solid score with some very Bondian brass!
The music was Orchestrated and Conducted by Nicholas Dodd so that may explain the Bondian bit!!!
I also look forward to a score release. The music during the prologue (set in the US Civil War) made me sit up, because of its similarity to one of the "war" movements in Shostakovich's 8th symphony.
Anyone else pick this up yet ? It's an involving - if a bit long - CD with some fun action passages, lots of brass & "Bondian" type cues as noted above. A nice surprise.

Just revisited this score. This was a delightful blind buy many years ago. Kinda reminds me of a James Bond score, or more specifically a David Arnold type of James Bond score with an ethic flare. Exciting and "jazzy".
