A Frustrating Day. Tried three different stores for Debney's DREAMER, which was released today by Sony. No luck. Also, not available on iTunes. And Amazon doesn't appear to have it in stock. Where's DREAMER?

My local Tower Records had stacks of them this morning. Very nice score, I add.

Well, yes... thanks Rog... but I was looking for instant gratification. I'm leaving on a trip in a few days and was hoping to load this onto my iPod before taking off. No Tower Records anywhere near me, alas.

Don't worry, you could make a compilation featuring highlights from Legends of the Fall and Seabiscuit to get the same thing.

Ah, I see. Although you mentioned Amazon.com, so I presumed you were interested in mail order.

I'm kinda hoping this will be better than Seabiscuit.

In that case you'll be sorely disappointed!

I only order from Amazon if I'm in a rush, because I can select 2 day or overnight shipping. Needless to say, Intrada is my preferred mail-order outlet

And yes, I see it on iTunes now. That's also a stopgap measure until I can get my hands on the actual cd.

Thanks everyone... even those of you with the snarky comments.

Why pay 9.99 for it to download then pay higher for the cd in the store.
itunes gives a good enough download then you can burn it to a cdr.
Whatever.

I'm guessing that some people prefer non-compressed, archival quality music with liner notes.

I do both when I see it pop up on itunes I ask myself if I can live without the liner notes or not and I weigh the price.
I downloaded Emily Rose but I bought Corpse Bride.
Whatever works.

Sometimes I find the sound quality of the downloaded one better than the pressed cd or about the same.
Ive got The Fly/Fly2 coming in the mail soon, I may just download one cue of it from itunes and compare the difference in sound quality, however I do want the liner notes of this one.

iTunes mp3s, aac-encoded at just 128 kbps, are no match for cd quality. I always prefer to buy the cd, unless one isn't available (as in Medal of Honor: European Assault).

Message to Steve Jobs: Increase the bitrate on iTunes mp3s to at least 192 kbps, and then we'll talk.

Cheers

I just got Fly/Fly 2 in the mail.
I downloaded a cue from each on itunes and comparing now, I use 128kbps in my downloading and with my Sony headphones I really dont notice much difference.
The download sounds as clear as the pressed cd I just got.
So no difference as far as I can tell.

Found a copy of this for $1.00 thrifting yesterday - nice Horse music. Haven't seen the film but could hear moments via the score that represented the galloping horse motion - great stuff.

Fun to see all of my old posts in this thread... Tower Records, iTunes 128 kbps audio, iPods, etc. I still enjoy DREAMER.
