Well, thanks Nyborg & Slint for bringing this now 10 year old posting back to life!
I did buy the GDM back in '05 but felt something lacked in the remastering. The original Lp had become so familiar to me since my teens (fer crying out loud, I'm old that I though my judgement was off. However, more time with the GDM made my disappointment in it clear. Those incessant snare's weren't as crisp and the haunting Ali's Theme seemed to have lost it's depth, as though some process had flattened it.
Like you, Nyborg, I pre-ordered this immediately, and now that I see it's "in stock" at Quartet, my anticipation is off the charts. Come on SAE, don't make me wait until the end of May to get this... please?
