I received the CD today and now I know what those "*" and "**" marks on the tracklisting from the Varese review meant:

this score has additional music by MICHAEL GORE (*) and a theme by MICHEL CAMILO (**), last one being the main melody for that jingle a young Marc Shaiman "sings" in the film.

It seems they just forgot...

Turns out one of my favorite melodies in the film was written by Michael Gore. Go figure...

and no Gore credit even on imdb. Odd.

btw, I just played again this CD. I love James L Brooks movie, and Conti's (and Gore's) music... but the CD is not so easy to enjoy for some reason: the short cues, the melodies not developped (the underused main title theme!), a lack of "direction"... I donno but something wrong happens here. Also, the sequencing is a little odd, and all those alternates... even some cues end abruptly. I know the scoring was very hard, with Conti repeating cues, Gore entering later in the game... Maybe a suite should do it more justice.

what ya think?
