My wife and I were enjoying THE 5000 FINGERS OF DR. T (a good topic in it's own right) last night and it struck me that this extremely talented composer is nearly non-existant on CD. I have THE VERDICT suite on the BMG "Film Noir" release and the short SABRINA cue from their "Classic Film Scores for Humphrey Bogart". Other than this, though, nothing.... My question is: Are his scores existant in a vault somewhere? Does his music suffer from the lack of name recognition that makes a CD release a financial risk?
I'm watching "The 5,000 Fingers of Dr. T" right now and would love to see Film Score Monthly release this score! Anyone know of the possibility of it seeing a release? Is it true there is an LP of it that was released in the 70s? I find that kind of strange, but shows the popularity at that time of the music.

A soundtrack was released on CD last year in the UK, although the sound quality leaves much to be desired. A remastered release would be MOST welcome!
Seven tracks from "5,000 Fingers" (songs, main and end title) have been included with the lavish Hollaender boxed set from Bear Family Records.
The only trace of this I've found is called Politparade - but it's confusing because there's something else calle Politparade with completely different stuff on it. Can we get a link to this? What's the best price - cheapest I found was $210 - and has anyone heard the quality?
When I meet with Hans Salter in January 1983 the then 87 year old Salter told me this interesting story which I included in my Hans Salter FSM story about three years ago:
Hans Salter: "Do you remember a film called the 5,000 Fingers of Doctor T? I scored it with Fritz Hollander and Heinz Roemheld. The people making the film got quite a kick out of us. The used to say: ' Here comes Hans, Heinz and Fritz the German Mafia!' They thought we were quite a bunch of characters. I enjoyed that time."
