This is a tremendous release. For those thinking that the Right Stuff/North and South disc is enough, reconsider. An amazing release and yes I want Book 2's score as well.
To think that Conti wrote and recorded the score to the first mini-series in 3 weeks is astounding. As much as I love the Blue Box, this may be my favorite release so far this year.

Gary, I'm glad you like it. I'm still holding on to "The Right Stuff/North And South" album because it has a great performance of what is there by the London Symphony Orchestra. Hopefully the next batch will include Book 2, or anything else by Conti.smile

Hi TJ, Book 2 is great, Conti received an Emmy nomination for it. I would love to add it to my collection.smile

I have to ask about book II.
Did they use the music from the first one or Conti wrote music for it?

Conti re-recorded old music, and wrote new music for it.smile

Yep, same here. Ordered N&S on the 3rd. In contrast, last week I ordered the Superman box last Wednesday and got it Saturday.

Clearly the finest iteration of this score to ever exist. *Almost* as good as this stunning rendition of Princess Leia's theme:

Especially when those strings come in and at 2:30 and that horn flubs twice in a row. YUMMY!!!

As you all were...
