I was talking about the clips a user linked to, to hear the score, not where to find episodes. Pay attention to the conversation before lecturing.

Hello nick11a, about the irish-flavored incidental music scoring at 1:22:30 in the COLUMBO S7 Episode THE CONSPIRATORS I can report some news: As a long-time COLUMBO aficionado I have the pre-2006 non-remastered Japanese DVD Sets of S1 - S7 plus the recent Japanese COLUMBO Blu-ray Box with the remastered versions. In BOTH Japanese DVD / Blu-ray releases that incidental music is unaltered and fully intact !! This means that the Japanese - even in the remastered HD prints - left this music unaltered and intact and only Universal in the USA decided for whatever reason to remove this incidental music !! This music removal in the remastered USA prints is even more disturbing as the incidental scoring is integral to the scene - the removal robs the complete "driving"scene of it's identity. You have 1:30 minutes of silence on the screen without dialogue / music which makes no sense at all and you feel immediately that some music is missing ... So Universal USA clearly messed this episode up - artistically speaking. At least the Japanese left it unaltered ... I am gobsmacked! I do not know why the hell happened but it may have been some technical mistake that caused the music to disappear. It isn't that same piece used over the end credits? UI did a lousy job with Columbo. The eps, even the longer ones, only have four chapter stops. And, wouldn't a great extra have been the 90 minute version of ETUDE IN BLACK? ANd, they put out at least one of the revival seasons in 1:78!!!!! Forget it Bruce, its Chinatown.

"And this is a major point where the 2011 Japanese COLUMBO Blu-ray Box shines too. The Japanese included both versions of ETUDE IN BLACK (both from HD Masters) in the Blu-ray Box: the 70min version and the longer 90min version !".... !!!!!!!!!!!! CAN I borrow that? I am the Columbo GUY AFTER ALL BRM P.S. DO THEY DUB FALK'S VOICE?

What Pat Williams is there on LP? I have "Shades of Today" on Verve from the late 60s; another on Capitol from the early 70s ("Threshold?") where he's smoking a cigar; and "How Sweet It Is" on RCA from the 60s. I think the latter is my favorite of these. What else is on LP or CD? Williams recorded 2 more LPs for Verve, "Think" and "Heavy Vibrations". He recorded an LP under his full name "Patrick Moody Williams" but I don't remember the title or label.

Well, I'll mention what I've mentioned before, the best Pat Williams album, in my opinion, is his Pulitzer-nominated An American Concerto, which features a jazz quartet (alto sax solos by Phil Woods!) with the London Symphony. Three movement work is exceptional and a great example of third stream music. Definitely is long overdue for a CD release.
