For those who have been following the "Cheers!" thread, you have probably noticed that I was in a "feelgood" reality series/documentary series last year. We start the shooting of Season 2 after Easter.

Anyways, I thought I could just as well start up a separate thread about this, and I also wanted to forward people to the music video that we produced last year. I am the first lead singer, and you can now see it at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YLy1OghbCEQ

See if you can get what film score the opening bars are supposed to sound like!

You were in a reality/documentary series?! I haven't been following that thread; could you please provide a brief summary of what happened.

Alright, since you ask...

The series was called "Heia Tufte!" ("Go Tufte!"). It concerned a football (soccer) team called Tufte, where none of the players were particularly adept at the game, but where everyone had a burning interest for something (in my case film music) and colourful personalities. It all culminated in a match against Norway's best football team, VĂ¥lerenga. 10 episodes in total, from September to December-2005. Released on a 3-DVD set, and also a CD with the song featured in the music video. Both did very well.

After the series finished, we played a charity game for more than 16.000 fans in Stavanger, a city on the west coast of Norway. Quite an experience.

Really fun video, Thor!

Lots of questions:

Is that actually you singing (or were you dubbed by Marni Nixon)? big grin

You have a lot of charisma on camera and come off very well. Have you received a lot of adoring fan mail from the Norwegian girls yet?

You seem to have been very involved in public performance kinds of projects over the past few years---TV, etc. Is this something you intend to pursue more seriously or is it just a lark for the present? In other words, do you intend to become our very own Norwegian matinee idol in the future?

Can we get an autographed picture of you?

Anyway.....congratulations!

(PS.....Next video=More shower scenes! big grin big grin big grin )

Nice one, Thor! I spotted Erik the Viking as well...

You didn't say what the score was when you played the pros - have we got to buy the DVDs to find out? wink

Chris

***Is that actually you singing (or were you dubbed by Marni Nixon)?***

He, he...nope, no Poitier/McFerrin thing going on here. That's me singing (although not particularly well).

***You have a lot of charisma on camera and come off very well. Have you received a lot of adoring fan mail from the Norwegian girls yet?***

Uhm....yes, I must admit that I have. Lots of text messages on the phone etc. But I really prefer to meet people face to face, so I haven't been following up all too well. I thought about getting a hidden number for a while, but I AM single, after all, so I thought it wouldn't hurt. smile

***Is this something you intend to pursue more seriously or is it just a lark for the present? In other words, do you intend to become our very own Norwegian matinee idol in the future?***

Even though I have an academic background, I DO want to work in TV or film (as a TV host, for example). Let's see what happens when season 2 is over. I may be a little too old to start at the bottom of the ladder, as the bust boy.

***Can we get an autographed picture of you?***

LOL! Oh yes, I'm sure "Heia Tufte!" is big in the US...

***Anyway.....congratulations!***

Thanks.

***(PS.....Next video=More shower scenes! big grin big grin big grin )***

Haven't we tortured the viewers enough?

We lost 15-1 (they had 7 players on the field, we had 11). Our single goal was from a penalty kick. I did not take that, but I DID score our team's FIRST goal ever in the match immediately preceding the big finale - against a team of 16-year-old girls! big grin

The DVD:

Several former reality show contestants in the USA have become TV personalities or hosts; I assume things are similar in Norway. Good luck!

Is this that game that's played without using one's hands (and are they partial to signing amputees)?

Yes, as in actual FOOTball, unlike the American interpretation of the word where you're actually using the HANDS, for some reason!!

Then why isn't called feetball?

Because you usually only hit the ball with one foot at the time. big grin

Try cashing a huge paycheck at your local "drive in" bank using only your toes.

Thor, I must admit that you are being a tremendously good sport (pun intended) about all of this.

Remember that your FSM sisters have always considered you irresistable!smile

Good luck with the hometown groupies (lady fans!); however, with or without a TV contract, you are our superstar!

Update:

I have just returned from a wild weekend in Bergen, the second-largest city in Norway. Why? Well, to be part of "Gullruten 2006", which is the Norwegian equivalent to the Emmys.

And...we won not one, but TWO bloody prizes! One for "Best Entertainment Show" and another for "Best New Creation". Most of the Norwegian TV celebrities were present, and I ran into Matt Stone and Trey Parker the night before!

Here's a picture from the show (after we had won the award). I'm the one in the middle, screaming the loudest! wink:
