Apparently it is back on track, Barker still writing the remake and ensures Doug Bradley will still be pinhead (yay!). Now if he can get Christopher Young back as well, I'll gladly let my soul be torn apart again!
Hellraiser was the second Christopher Young score I acquired in the late eighties and it's been a steady love affair with his incredible music ever since.
What was the first score you got of his? I actually got Hellraiser Hellbound prior to getting the first Hellraiser score (which I think was oop at the time), but have since then got hold of the great silva screen trilogy and bsx releases.
I was fortunate enough to meet Mr. Young a few times in the last three years - thanks to the valliant efforts of Peter Hackman (thanks a million buddy!) - and for him to write a new Hellraiser score would a perfect squaring of the circle, a dream come true for this more than a quarter of a century fan.
Saw some pictures of his recent house party, looked very cool! Yes, I too would love to hear what his take on Hellraiser would be nowadays, it has been 25 years since he scored one!
This sounds like another failed attempt to me. If it was serious/on track then the advertised star would have been contacted before the press went out.
Nothing telling. It just means that Clive Barker, during initial talks with Dimension, expressed his personal desire to have Doug Bradley return. Bradley, naturally, won't have anything to say one way or the other until Barker actually completes a script and sends it to him.
And put that picture in context. It was probably taken awhile ago, under the presumption that a remake/reboot/whatever wouldn't involve him, as they rarely involve the original talents. Obviously, that could change now if Barker and Dimension are adamant about bringing him back. Bradley's even said before that the thought of someone else playing Pinhead feels like a kick in the teeth. He and Barker are old friends, and I would actually be surprised if he didn't return.
