.

I recently bought a large format book which whose sole contents are the POSTERS of the BOND films.

How geeky is that?!

(I also have a 1-sheet for MWGG if anyone is interested in a trade)

My girlfriend bought me that book for my birthday last year!

Oh, is it me, or does Man with the Golden Gun sound different in terms of acoustics or something with the other Barry Bond scores? It's either that or was it recored somewhere different than the other ones or something?

I think that 'The Man With The Golden Gun' was the first of Barry's Bond scores not to use CTS studios in Bayswater. CTS moved to Wembley in 1972. This would account for the different sound of this score compared with his previous ones

Okay. I'm tired of hearing how bad TSWLM score is. I was always surprised how Bondish it was, especially the cool Egyptian music, not on the album of course. I will say that the album is crap and lousy rerecording, with sloppy performances and a terrible representation or the film score.

I too love the MWTGG score and I'd pay a million dollars a shot for it. Kidding. Admittedly, a weak Bond film (probably the first one at the time, in my opinion). Maybe, and don't cringe at my suggestion, but now that EMI is distributing it's catalog on itunes, maybe they will allow a downloaded expanded version of this title as well as others. Similar to what happened with the Black Hole. I know most of us hated that way of distribution, but it's better than a sharp stick in the eye. New formats have a way of changing record and movie distributors minds. Anyway, just a thought. I don't want to leave this earth without owning the great music where the cloud is blocking out the sun from the giant mirror which is controlling the laser that Goodnight turned on accidentally with her behind. LOL. Peace to all.

Bond lover,
Randy

I just watched the film again tonight and was reminded of how much I really love this score. The exotic touches, the simpler orchestrations, and the lush sound of CTS Wembley...it's all fantastic. Barry always reminds me how much can be said with so little. A true master! A complete release would be most welcome, but the expanded album is great.

An expanded album???????????

Where?

I must have missed this, I have the remastered album, but I'd love an expanded one.

if you go to youtube and search for Gkgyver videos you will find a very good rerecording of all the unreleased music. I have added some of this guy's recordings to my Ipod (he also rerecorded all the unreleased Moonraker tracks).

Whoops! Yes, I meant remastered album. An expanded one would be great though! I love the piano bits that accompany Andrea Anders.

Is there anyone who knows anything about this score? I think that it deserves a complete edition....If it is going to be limited will sell very fast. It's John Barry!!! I hope that the right people will see this thread and will take the decision to deal with this lovely score!!

I'm guessing that Mr. Barry wrote the source cues for this as well? In particular I'm thinking of the pop/rock cues that play while Bond is outside the Bottoms Up club (especially the guitar piece that plays right before Nick Nack walks up beside him).
