I am not a big fan of Mr. Rosenthal altough I've heard some of his scores. Some of his works were disappointing for me (Clash of the Titans, majority of his Young Indy episodes - if only there was some Talgorn included instead, Mussolini: The Untold Story CD2) some of them pleasantly surprised me (Mussolini: The Untold Story CD1, Heart like a wheel)...
My favorite so far is PETER THE GREAT and according to the review Meeting with remarkable men might be similar. So I'll definitelly check this one.
Hey Ford... Stephen Hill used to play this score a LOT on Music From the Hearts of Space back in the 1980's, though I'm not sure if it was the Rosenthal tracks or not. Do you know? Whatever it was they played, I liked it a lot!
I've loved Rosenthal ever since BECKET was a new movie (and I was a new school-boy). But for various reasons I'd never sat down to give this one a listen until now, so I'm very thankful to this thread. It's apparently a blending of Rosenthal with two other primary compositional sources, but the gestalt works wonders for me. I've always liked Russian classical music and for want of a better term exotica, and this album is a beautiful exemplar of same. I only wish it were longer.
