The score for this Italian film is by Piero Umiliani. The opening title track, which is played under the Guido Crepax images, is from an Umiliani library LP called "To-day's Sound," which was reissued on Easy Tempo (it is the first track).
I don't think any of the other music from the film was pulled from that collection. Does anyone know if the rest of the music was written specifically for the film, or if it has been released elsewhere on LP or CD?
There were a lot of Umiliani libary lps that had very limited releases, and some contain a smattering of OST cues from films he scored. So it may be the case that a cue from this film was later included on the "To-days Sound" lp, as opposed to cues being pulled from these library lps and used to score this film.
I don't know if the music in this trailer is from the film or not. (It's an English-language trailer, although I don't know of any English-speaking countries where the film played.)
Thanks all. It's been a while since I've watched the film, but the two most memorable pieces of music (offhand) are the aforementioned opening number on the "To-day's Sound" album, along with a haunting, IIRC minor key piano theme. I am particularly interested if that is anyplace.
Still, maybe the person from Beat Records who posts here sometimes knows about this. I've wondered if this score was patched together from library cues or if certain pieces were written for this film. I can't remember how long the score is, so I don't know if there is enough for a stand-alone release or if it would need to be paired with something. Either way, I'd buy it in a second.
