Just a heads up that Intrada's spectacular release of PLANET OF THE APES by Lalo Schifrin is now sold out. This was limited to 3000 units. Screen Archives still has some copies. It's a great one!
Schifrin's Main Title to me, actually sounds like Lenny Rosenman, definately his BENEATH/BATTLE style. For sure his usual closing trademark statement. Cool though.
Think I'll pick this one up from SAE. I enjoy Earle Hagen's work and this would complete my PLANET OF THE APES Scores collection.
This title curiously just quietly sold out with very little fanfair. I'd say that's pretty good for a 3000 copy edition in a little less than two years, which is when I got it, October, 2005.

Supposing the APES connection helped the title to sell out quickly, it's strange that the 2 FSM APES CDs are still available after 7 and 6 years in print, respectively.
Doug Fake apologized in his regular column two or three days ago for having missed making such an announcement until they were down to about ten copies. I think we can forgive him, considering how much great product he and his elves have been churning out lately.
A good reason for me to check out their site with more regularity than of late. I get so busy. Also, I'd miss the swell humor I find with some of the posts on the FSM board... Sometimes, I e-mail friends and say, "Your missing some swell humor over here..."
