I too am a HUGE fan of the series. All I can do way out in The Rockies is wait for Amazon.com announce new series of episodes. I have never been a fan of police/detective tv shows. But, when you add the superb writing/direction/and the members of this cast PLUS the added unique ingredient of it all occuring in England during W.W.II, this makes for an intoxicating brew!
If there exists a cd of the show's music, it would be an interesting listen. The shows memorable main theme sounds VERY much like the opening theme from Phillip Glass's 'THE SECRET AGENT'. Well, parts of it.

MIDSOMMER MURDERS: I don't know why so few (shall we say none?) US broadcasters want to carry this: it is a delightful and can be dark and amusing at the same time (and I'd love to get the score for that too)
The Biography Channel used to screen the series in the U.S. before they lost the rights.There was talk of another channel in the U.S. screening the series, possibly BBC America, but nothing has been announced. I don't hold out much hope for BBCA, as their current output of programmes consists of reality shows, old sitcoms and fly-on-the-wall documentaries. Oh, and of course, Primeval. LOL
Thought you might like to know that there is a rather good site devoted to the series.

Thanks for the link to the midsommer site. I will definitely check it out. Yes, I do remember when Biography showed this. Got up early on weekends to catch it in California, but that was a while ago (I did not know that Biography lost the rights, I thought they didn't care as their overall programming [in my opinion at least] has totally gone down the tubes).

Biography treated tht show the way A&E treated MI-5. Well, maybe not exactly. MI-5 had alot of cuts made to it, and the channel had a total disregard towards the fans. Rather like BBCA. Fancy that. I think the best way to see these type of series is to buy the DVDs. Judging by the comments left on the MM message board, alot of the fans do that.
