I actually caught some Talgorn last week while watching the Young Indiana Jones DVDs. The score he wrote (for two episodes, edited into one "feature") was outstanding. Im a little miffed that its never reached CD.

I don't know, that could be the score CD, or a song/score combi. I hope there's a nice amount of score to sink one's teeth into. I'm sure governor will provide the answer.

Any chance for confirmation the CD on amazon is actually the above mentioned score/few songs combo?
I am a bit worried to order the CD until it is confirmed that there is no song album this time... It would be rather annoying to get ripped by AmazonFR's outrageous shipping costs and then find the song album in the package instead of the score frown

Just saw the film and it's awful although I've thought it could hardly be any worse after the previous two but this one is the winner which was almost painful to watch. If you have seen RRRrrr!!! this one is on the same level.
Talgorn's music on the other hand is fantastic with numerous themes and fanfares. I especially loved Main Titles that combine majority of important themes into the single piece, parade of the charioteers which was clear tribute to Rozsa's Ben Hur and the finale Chariot Race. The music is really fantastic and I can't wait to hear that on its own. 2008 starts in the big way.
In the first scene of Alain Delon Morricone's The Sicilian Clan is surprisingly used. It might be interesting to find out if Talgorn actually wrote anything for this scene that wasn't used and might appear on the CD.

Thanks for the report. Reviews from the press are globally negative.

Nevertheless, how awful it might be, I predict very strong Box Office results (at least for the first two weeks).

The film will reach 5,000 european screens by late january, which is quite impressive.

Hello friends,

The score on CD (from Milan) is about 50 mns.

The "cherry on the cake" is the final score track on CD : "Chariot Race" (11:50) which took M. Talgorn about a week to compose. Great score.

(add 5 pop songs on the CD, running about 16 mns)

Urgh! You scared me. I was affraid that the total length of the album is 50 mins and 16 minutes are songs... but now I see it on your site.
Tracklist looks very good and the final piece will be fantastic based as well as Ouverture des Jeux & Parade cue.

Can't wait to hear it smile

btw, clips from all the cues are already available on Virgin website http://www.virginmega.fr/musique/album/asterix-aux-jeux-olympiques-bof--asterix-aux-jeux-olympiques-bof--103330959,page1.htm

Hmmm. I'm going to assume that "La version de votre navigateur ne vous permet pas de surfer sur ce site depuis un Mac, vous devez utiliser un navigateur FireFox" is French for "If you have a Mac, you're out of luck, pal."

No matter. I'm sure I'll be ordering this one without listening to the sound clips.

The literal translation is:
"The version of your browser does not allow you to access the website on a Mac; you must use a Firefox browser"

very nice work, quite melodic and with an 80's touch (williams at al scores, I mean, not the synth-pop wave)

rozas's music for BEN HUR is the obvious inspiration for all the olympic games music. fanfares and brass, with some humoresque interludes.

recommended!

Any new Talgorn, is good Talgorn. I will be ordering this as well. Since I have to order it from France, maybe I'll pick up President while I am at it.

This was the cheapest site I could find to order it, at least from the U.S. (cost me $20.69, including shipping):

All I can say is, "Wow!" -- I'll make a note of that site for next time. At that price, with free worldwide shipping, I'm surprised they can make a decent profit.

Wow! Thanks. I just placed my order with them. I was afraid that it might only be the single, but it's billed as the entire score.

Hope it all works out right.

Thanks again.
