Who else thinks this magnificent score needs to be remastered, broken into smaller tracks (the two 20-min tracks from the old CD are somewhat difficult to navigate) and released in a complete form?
Any fan of LAWRENCE must surely be a fan of this one... it's epic, rousing, stuff.
I loved this score It must be re-released complete and with the original recording sessions, the last track "march of freedom" on the film has choir, on cd not, for me this track is problably one the best from Jarre.
I remember seeing this disc years ago at Tower in Chicago and I kick myself now for not picking it up immediately, simply because I didn't know anything about it and was kinda "hot & cold" on Jarre at the time. I hear great things about it so yes if there ever is a chance for a reissue, I'll be sure to add it to my collection this time!
for me is one of the best scores of Maurice Jarre, great themes, wonderful performance of the orchestra, this Tadlow CD is amazing. Actually I think the score is not as valued as it should, undoubtedly a masterpiece in my opinion
Definitely one of my favorite scores. A truly romantic, old fashioned epic. I haven't listened to Jarre's classics as I ought to have but this has to be right at the top.
Man, if I could be a fly on the wall of the LSO recording stages from 1977 to 1985; their finest years, in my opinion.
Another fan here. On release it was a bit of a welcome throwback epic which hadnt been made for a few years and with a traditional Jarre score to boot.
