I am listening this soundtrack and I like the combination of genres in Scenes of the Crime suite.
The first moments of score and there is this guitar with something like Metalica sound and writing + strings, drums, keyboards and great bass. I like this combination some hard described rock - jazz fusion musicsmile
And there are later great strings passages with solo electric guitar, solo cello, harmonica. Great 17 minutes of music

A Child´s game is another great listening with these music box themes little bit like score to Hush with using of great samples...it sounds really close to real orchestra

Thanks Chris Young for great work and Buysoundtrax for realising these two scores.

I would just like to post about my positive experiences with BSX. I've ordered 3 CDs from them, on three different occasions (all autographed). The last two times, I actually forgot to write which CD I wanted (the most recent Chris Young releases), but a short phone call solved one problem, and the other arrived today. I was really pleased to see that SCENES/CHILD'S PLAY was indeed autographed. I would just like to personally thank Ford and Mark, you've been nothing but reliable for me.

Anyways, thanks again Ford and Mark for this great release!

Although I can't really get into the 17 minute suite from Scenes Of The Crime, I must say the 'sampled' score to A Child's Game is really great.
It's astounding to think these are just Young's synth demos of the unused score!!
They sound better than A LOT of scores I've heard in major films from A-List composers.
They really sound fleshed-out, with excellent dramatic weight and arrangement.
I also love his collection of Music Box melodies that close out the CD. Short, but sweet.

Along with this one, Young's official site lists other "incomplete score" (as I recall the wording) for films where he wasn't the final composers. I'd love to have other CD's with those titles.
