Great work, dlh! You captured the aesthetic of my old friend Jim very well. Do people in that thread take requests? I have a number of scores in my digital collection that need proper iTunes covers. Could be promos or regular releases with shoddy covers, for example.
Always loved this amazing recording and considered it one of Tribute's best. (I've always been drawn much more to The Kentuckian than the other score which is minor Herrmann to me but still nice to have.)
Yup. Although I bumped this for the cover, I should of course also point out that I love these two scores. I can't quite remember how I got the CD way back when, but it was a delightful surprise in a time I was starting to appreciate Herrmann more. It helped that this felt slightly more traditional, with more Americana and less "aching cells". The strange thing about many Herrmann releases is that despite many short tracks, somehow it all comes together well. Same thing here.
The TRIBUTE recordings are all great.I just got SteinerĀ“s ADVENTURES OF DON JUAN, which ( being not a Steiner fan at all!) I consider as one of the finest swashbuckler scores there is and a great recording. Next one will be THE NAKED AND THE DEAD...
