Drinking is evil. Look what happened to Margaret White, when her husband came home with the smell of roadhouse whiskey on his breath!

When not guzzling arsenic, wine is my poison of choice...

I guess I'll just play it cool . . . I want this chick to think I'm a cool guy . . . yeah. Umm, well, I've been enjoying ReVah's Pomegranate wine recently. It's reasonably priced and can be found at your local grocer for around $10. For beer, I'm a bit of a pretentious beer snob, but I've been drinking Blue Moon's Harvest Moon a lot. Plus one of our local breweries in Atlanta has a great Fall ale called Motorboat (I'll have to give you more details on it later when I have one on hand). Other than that, I'm a big fan of Three Philosophers for my high-gravity nights. St. Bernardus Abt 12 is a great quad. When I'm low on cash or just want something for a party, I usually spring for some Red Stripe or some Guiness Draught. The Pomegranate wine sounds good. That is one of my favourite fruits and I splurge on them (when in season) even though they cost an arm and a leg. J also drinks Blue Moon, and some imported Belgium brews. I have to admit, some of the Belgium brews rub me the wrong way. There is some funky aftertaste I cannot pin down. However; there is one brand that I tried and enjoyed. But for the life of me, I cannot remember the maker. Have you tried Chimay? http://www.chimay.com/ I also like Red Stripe. It is one of our 'main' inhabitants and always has a home in our fridge. A great beer when one is BBQing too, which we do often. Sierra Nevada Pale is another oldie, but goodie. I enjoy it in the winter with a hearty meal. We have a fairly light winter so I do not 'do' the traditional heavy brews. LOL! I could talk wine and beer all day... Yes, I would like more information on the Motorboat. I do enjoy Fall ales (Oktoberfest ones, esp.) as they pair nicely with many of-the-season dishes.

I like a glass ... or two ... of wine, beer/larger, Guiness (stout), whisky (even whiskey some times), port (fortified wine) and a glass of rum never goes amiss; brandy - provided it's good, too. I avoid gin and vodka. Of course there are some wines, just as there are some brands of whisky etc. which are not to my liking but if I don't try 'em I won't know. Now the red wine I drank last night (a Chilean Sangiovese Syrah) was rather nice ... it went down very well with the home-made Bolognese sauce and spaghetti. But perhaps I shouldn't have had that third (and final) glass - my wife had loads of school work to do so limited herself to one glass ... and the bottle was just sitting there - the head is feeling a little thick this morning. Poison? Nah! I will do whiskey on occasion (Canadian whiskey is smooth as silk), Brandy once a year, Rum if I am brave, and Port if it is around. Gin and Vodka I like too. What can I say? I grew up with a full bar in the house... Ohhh...the Chilean Sangiovese Syrah sounds lovely! Esp. with Spaghetti a la Bolognese, which I have not made in ages. (Bad, Holly!) At the moment, I am drinking a Red too: Fantini Sangiovese Daunia. It has a little hint of raspberries and cherries in it...delicious!
