I've been playing THE MEDUSA TOUCH in the car today, for the first time in a while (probably a few years). It's still a fantastic score; with pounding action music and those throbbing, pulsing suspense tracks.

But is it me or is the sound quality a notch down from other Lewis scores? I actually think I prefer the rerecordings of the MEDUSA tracks on the 2-disc collection (which includes the organ music not on the score disc).

Good score from an always interesting composer.

It would be nice to see him lured back to the movie music podium.

The Madwoman of Chaillot is just stunning. Theater of Blood is fun - and has Price and Rigg!

Theatre of Blood is an awesome score and a fun movie. Has anyone ever noticed the similarity between the Theatre of Blood main title and the theme from Oh, God! by Jack Elliott ? (which would be a welcome score release, by the way)

from what I saw, Lewis rarely disappointed. The Man who Haunted Himself and 11 Harrowhouse were delicious. And the Madwoman of Chaillot was a bit of secret gem in LP days.

Digging this thread back up because I recently was able to see 11 HARROWHOUSE via Netflix as ShoutFactory has released it on DVD.

What a wonderful score. A shame that there is only 21 minutes on that promo with THE UNSEEN. I wonder if the rest is locked away somewhere.

It'd be fantastic if someone connected to Fox could release a full version of this score.

For those not familiar with the film, here's the opening with the Main Title theme:

The melancholy title theme from Theatre Of Blood is in my top 3. I don't know Oh, God but will check it out.

Theatre of Blood is one fine score (and the film itself a blast for Vincent Price and/or Shakespeare aficionados), but as always with Michael J. Lewis you can immediately tell which parts he orchestrated himself (like the Main Theme) and others that were orchestrated by Lawrence Ashmore (like The Duel). Lewis's own grasp of orchestral color is severely limited.

I would love to see LaLa Land pick up MEDUSA TOUCH and give it the deluxe treatment. Love this score and played a ton of times.

Others I like... FFOLKES (North Sea Hijack), NAKED FACE and SPHINX. Yes, you can tell it is Michael J. Lewis, but WOW... awesome stuff.

I'va always loved 'Madwoman of Chaillot' and would quickly purchase a re-mastered, deluxe edition.

That one has a nice theme (featured on the "Orchestral Film Music 1969-94" sampler), but it's a bit thin on the whole.

Maybe UPON THIS ROCK is his finest work.

Absolutely love returning to his Theater Of Blood. It enhances the film of which Vincent Price is terrific in. Want to explore more listening of Lewis' scores.

Will we ever see a proper release of 'The Man Who Haunted Himself'? Also, a question for those who have the promo. Does it include the song that the wife plays on record while waiting for her husband to come home?

Revisited Bryan Forbes' THE NAKED FACE (1984) on Kino Lorber's recent new blu-ray. I was struck by the gorgeous score that I had forgotten about since I haven't seen the film in decades (an underrated little gem IMO). It has a fantastic theme, lush and sweeping, though I imagine some will be turned off by the frequent '80s synth drum beats (they do kinda stick out a bit). Who knows if the masters to this score exist, but I'd sure welcome a soundtrack!
