I really loved this soundtrack from John Morris! As I read the notes in the booklet there was mention made of many or most of Morris's other film scores. And on the inside of the back there is a photo of John Morris and a 'selected filmography'. From 'The Producers' in 1968 thrugh 'Ellen Foster'(?) in 1997. No mention at all of the single Best Original Score Oscar nomination for his 'The Elephant Man' from 1980. If it were MY only nomination for an Oscar for Best Score, I'd have included it; was it an oversight or is Morris not proud of his 'Elephant Man' score?

You just won the grand prize -- The original bones of the Elephant Man (won from an auction from the Michael Jackson estate). J/K Actually, it's an embarrassing oversight that no one seemed to catch until now. As a matter of fact it's not listed on our Spaceballs release either. However, it will be featured on future Morris releases. Now if you'll excuse me I need to find a towel to wipe this egg off with... MV

Thank you LaLa Land for even responding to my question...it was a surprise. I was expecting one of the many, many, John Morris fans to respond. As much as I love Morris's Oscar nominated score to 'The Elephant Man', my personal favorite remains his 'SILENT MOVIE'. The 20th Century Fox LP disappeared many years ago when my turntable also vanished. Just a suggestion. 'HIGH ANXIETY' with the song sung by Mel Brooks is another favorite. (wasn't there a WHIP involved in the singing of the title song? Well, a whip 'sound', not unlike the song of 'Blazing Saddles'?)

It's a larger than life score perfect for the zany style of the film. LOVE that opening title beyond belief. As for the song, there is a whip sound just once when Brooks snaps the microphone cord ("whooooah-xiety!"). "And remember folks, be good to your parents. They've been good to you."
