Because "You Light Up My Life" has been running through my head loudly and longly enough that I'd really like to take a blowtorch to my brain pan, I've been thinking about Joe Brooks.

After making about 80 squillion bucks off this song (I remember I couldn't get away from it on the radio) I remember reading that he made a film called INVITATION TO THE WEDDING which had the blockbuster cast of his latest squeeze, Ralph Richardson, and John Gielgud, plus the novelty of Gielgud getting talked into sporting a Texas accent and a 10-gallon hat for the role.

Did anybody ever see it?

Ten years on. Still nobody's seen or heard of this?

The last film shot by the great Freddie Young (LAWRENCE OF ARABIA). Made in England, it went straight to VHS in the U.S. and hasn't had a Region 1 DVD release.
