At first I was puzzled why this thread was talking about a boot for SON OF FURY (which we shouldn't be talking about and that I thought had an authorized release). Then I noticed that the beginning of this thread is 17 years old. Now I feel old.

Anyway ,just to update for folks coming late. Yes, SON OF FURY is NOT a Western, but it is a exciting Newman adventure score and available in a nicely packaged CD from SAE.

I just heard some sample from the Bravados, this is obviously mandatory.

I'm mostly familiar with Friedhofer through that amazing Kritzerland split "Rains of Ranchipur". Now my interest deepens, pretty much concurrent with my interest in maestro Korngold.

One western recommendation that I think is still available: The Bravados, which Alfred co-composed with his friend and colleague Hugo Friedhofer
