Many of you will know the story of how during the scene where R.G Armstrong has to threaten kristofferson with a shotgun, during first take Peckinpah threw a wobbly and screamed something like I just dont believe a g******** word youre saying!
So they re-did scene with Armstrong so wound up he sends chair flying and rams shotgun so hard into Kristoffersons chest i believe he bruised him!

I believe the "Special Edition" is an improvement. Overall, I would say the film is very well crafted but let down by a dramatically uneven, rambling, narrative that just doesn't allow its two lead characters to become distinctive or engaging enough to compel our deep involvement; nor is the changing relationship between the two effectively delineated.

Please Bill, listen again to the line (from The Wild Bunch): It's "black KID'S ass". I heard it directly from the horse's (Bo Hopkin's) mouth. IMDB is wrong.

This has been on TCM in HD a few times looking very nice, but it's the Seydor cut which I don't like, so it's a frustrating experience, scenes cut out, lines cut out, new scenes in. If Warner finally gets around to releasing this on Blu-ray, I hope it's both cuts (like the DVD), just the Seydor, then I wouldn't buy it. TCM have also shown a lovely looking HD transfer of Ride The High Country.
...& I think Bob Dylan's music works really well, I esp. like the title music.
