I don't know if this has been mentioned already, but John Williams' inauguration piece is now available from Sony Classical on iTunes. And before you start complaining about that, note that it's in iTunes Plus format, which means it comes in 256 kbps quality and has NO DRM.
Very nice. This is the unadulterated studio recording, BTW, not the "live" recorded version heard on PBS and various websites with added mic noise and applause (or an early cut-off) at the end.
I'm not surprised it was pre-recorded as playing string instruments in that kind of cold is horrible and your instrument can go out of tune in a second. Great piece though!!

Being a violinist myself, I personally know that it can *damage* your instrument as well. I have to be very careful about temps with my relatively inexpensive instrument, but a player like Yo-Yo or Itzhak wouldn't even think of taking their multi-million-dollar instruments out there. They had no choice *but* to prerecord, and I have absolutely no problem with it.
