There were too many funny people for me to pick one. I don't think I could settle on a list of 10.

Jan Hooks. Her impersonation of Bette Davis was too funny. In the skit Davis's will is a 2 part videotape. I also loved her as the Sweeny Sister. Miss her!

The great Garrett Morris! Unlike other cast members who got their "big break" on SNL, Morris was more of a Phil Hartman/Billy Crystal-type show-biz veteran of three Broadway musicals, several plays, movies and TV projects. Far from being the "token black guy," he created memorable characters himself, such as Chico Escuela of the New York Mets. (What was his famous line, folks? Many people know it without remembering its origin.) His "news for the hard of hearing" alone guarantees him immortality. http://www.hulu.com/watch/1421/saturday-night-live-weekend-update This next clip seems like another one-note gag until its climax, when we're reminded that Morris may have had the best musical-comedy chops of ANY cast member since. (Although Murphy came close.) http://www.hulu.com/watch/10621/saturday-night-live-ken-norton Understand my point? He's not FAKING opera, like Sandler, he's actually DOING it! Garrett Morris: the real deal.

Do you have clips of Garrett playing Chico Esquella, the Puerto Rican baseball player/cum Sports announcer? "Thank you, Hane (Jane)...." Funny as hell. "Baseball's been veddy veddy good to me!"

I can't pick just one from the original cast. Belushi & Aykroyd & Chase & Murray & Radner were all tops, but with a gun to my head to pick one, I'd probably go with Chase. From subsequent casts, Murphy & Piscopo owned the show, and later Phil Hartman ruled.

From subsequent casts, Murphy & Piscopo owned the show. I still remember where I was and what I was doing when Buckwheat got shot. An entire generation does. "Let's look at the film." "Owwwww."

In general, Garrett Morris, for all the reasons above. That guy should've had one helluva career, but I haven't a clue what he's doing now. My favorite Weekend Update person was Dennis Miller.

Dan Ackroyd dId the best impressions of Nixon and Carter I ever saw in my life. Of course, nothing will ever top his performance as- "FRED GARVIN- MALE PROSTITUTE."
