If you are I envy you. I'd love to own all his albums, but it's very expensive. It is fun however, although sometimes frustrating. So far I haven't been disapointed by any of his albums.

You haven't listened to Stepmom yet?

I just dragged "Stepmom" out last month, after years of neglect. I rather like it!

Not so much!

Then again, I don't like most of the pre-Jaws stuff either (exceptions THE COWBOYS and JANE EYRE....and diamond head's pretty cool.) So no, I'm definitely not a completist!

I consider myself a John Williams completist. I've been listening to his music since I was a child watching Gilligan's Island and Lost In Space, and I now have every album of his ... I think.

Still waiting for a Gilligan release!

Anyway, it's tougher being a Goldsmith completist out of sheer volume. Williams isn't that difficult.

I did the completist thing with a few composers and ended up with lots of CDs I didn't like. I don't know how you guys can afford it and have the time to listen to it all smile

I am the opposite of a John Williams completist, in that I wouldn't devote the shelf space to his music if you offered it to me for free.

Once I can convince myself to give up "Checkmate" and "Lost in Space," that'll be the end. wink

Actually, I have only done that with two composers- Bernard Herrmann and Goldsmith.

Even Rozsa whose music I love immensely, I still found there to be some clunkers! I guess I'm a Korngold completist....to some extent!

Yes, I'm a Williams completist. Well completist in-so-far as legitimate albums are concerned. I have a few unmentionables, but not all.

Even more of a Goldsmith completist!

I'm a Williams completist for film scores, don't own any of his concert works. I think I have pretty much all of them. (With minor, asterisk-style exceptions like "Yes, Giorgio" and "Valley of the Dolls")

I only just decided to expand beyond films to TV after getting the various FSM Williams TV scores at Xmas, so the Irwin Allen TV show albums go onto the wish list, but they're expensive and tough to find. And I have to admit, I don't have the fire for finding them that I do for, say, older Desplat albums right now.

John Williams is (as with most composers) a hit-and-miss proposition for me, and I'm not that much of a diehard fan of his. The only two composers I've intentionally set out to be a completist are Ottorino Respighi and John Adams.

Purely by accident, though, I think I have everything by Debbie Wiseman and Alexandre Desplat which has been commercially released - and almost there (just the odd title or two missing) for Richard Band, David Shire, Bruce Broughton and Laurence Rosenthal. By some act of confluence, I also have nearly every title (all save one) ever released by La-La-Land. None of this wasn't intentional - it just kind of happened.

I own all his film and classical work. I adore 95%! REALLY!
I also have most Goldsmith scores and most of Korngold's music as well.
