I'm just curious. Does anyone here own all the Special Collection and Signature Editions from Intrada?

I own up to #100 of the special collection. I'm gonna have to stop now and just pick out the stuff I really want (I did the same thing with the FSMs and yes, I know it's kind of silly, but when I started, we didn't have all these collections going).

I also own all the signature collections but I'll probably continue indefinitely with those, because up til now, I haven't heard one I didn't like and I've found some real gems, especially Chris Young's stuff (I play The Tower over and over and over).

I have all of Intrada's Special, Signature, and earlier limited editions (it took me a long while and patience to get Nightcrossing).

I also have all Varese Club and SCSE titles except for Cherry 2000.

There are a few Prometheus club titles I have yet to get.

I do not regret buying any of them.

No, I only buy the music I like (or am sure that I will like). Whether or not it's part of any series doesn't really matter.

Absolutely not. Some of the music they release doesn't actually interest me (most Golden Age scores, for example, or 50s Westerns, or composers I've tried and aren't to my taste - Tiomlin, Harline, Friedhofer). Where's the sense in buying CDs I know I'm not going to like? THAT'S bottlecap collecting.

If, as is constantly banged on about on this very forum, it's a mortal sin to buy up limited editions solely for eBay profiteering, it's surely even more wrong to buy a CD you don't have any interest in just so you've got them all and it looks really cool on the shelf. At least the eBay profiteers are making them available to people who actually want the music but who missed them for whatever reason.

I have just over half of the Special Collection titles, and six of the Signature Edition titles. With only a few exceptions, those I don't have, I don't want. Completism for the sake of it is mindless.

I only buy the stuff I like as well, I only have two Special Collection titles, Saturn 3 and Something Wicked This Way Comes.

Same for limited releases from other labels.

I can't imagine the angst you would suffer if you did collect all the titles but there were just a few you couldn't find. That's going to drive you nuts.

I don't even really pay attention to whether a particular Intrada release is a "Special Collection" or "Signature Edition" - as long as it's a title I have an interest in and it hasn't sold out before I've made up my mind, I will order it.

So far, the one label (as it turns out) from which I have been steadily collecting every title is La-La-Land Records, but that's because their releases run very closely to my personal tastes more than any deliberate attempt at completism. (There have been a few titles which I didn't get when they were first released, but picked them up later after price reductions.)

Yep! I'm lucky to have them all! Took me nearly 3 years to complete (along all Varese Clubs from both periods)!

I have every FSM title... I started down the same path with Intrada, but when they started picking up steam I had to back off for financial reasons. Really glad I did too... there are many 80's releases that don't interest me at all.

And I'm still waiting for the right time to dump my sealed copy of the 2 disc version on Inchon... smile

... maybe because the eBay profiteers, as you call them, already bought them upfront! wink

Talk about buying a CD for the music, not the profit wink ahahah

I bought it for the music... and then (thankfully) listened to the sound clips before opening it. Now it just sits here staring at me saying "Open me! Add me to your Goldsmith collection!". But I really don't like the score at all.

I've sold a great many I did not care for. I only buy the tried and true titles now. You know, things you know are good.
