Click on 'Brazil' score production notebook by Michael Kamen link.

It's informative with Kamen's amusing stories of trying to stop Gilliam from using the song 'Brazil' for the movie.

Thanks for sharing. You know, I do want to stress that we've had another year without a Kamen release. I find that sad because the man definitely was at the height of his career when we lost him and there are so many great scores that deserve the labels' attention.

+1 for more Kamen releases. I hope the market exists for them. I know I would be thrilled... for starters, it would be great to have an actual film soundtrack release for BRAZIL. Many of the best moments from the score are either missing, re-recorded with different orchestration or buried under dialog on the Milan CD presentation.

Yes another year and no Kamen. I assume LaLa had to put their CD off until next year. But what about the rest of the labels? Come on guys please release some Kamen!!!!!!!!!! Please, please, please, please.

Does anyone know the name of the piece playing at 5:25?

I'm assuming it's an unheard, unpublished, unrecorded Kamen ballet which he references? This chaps my hide to no end, the fantastic concert work "our" film composers have written that sits in an abyss, heard once in some concert hall.

Thanks Sean. I missed that part. I did a bit of search and apparently it's called Rodin mis en vie.

I watched this film for my first time last night, even though I've enjoyed the soundtrack for years. Seems there's a lot of music missing. I tried searching for threads about this score and this is the first I encountered. Has Kamen's score ever been expanded? There's a fair bit of source music, too.

Interesting what he has to say about Sidney Sax. I wonder what the story is behind that, if there is one.

BRAZIL.... what a wonderfull score!

I miss mr. Kamen... very sad!

John Williams used bits of the same Aquarela do Brasil on the Canto Bight segment on THE LAST JEDI.

I love that piece! I feel like an idiot tho--I had this old LP and I always thought Jobim wrote the song:

Now I know the real history behind the "bar mitzvah song."

This score needs an album release that excludes all the dialogue found on the current album version.

I like the dialogue so I'd prefer a full release of the score with the original soundtrack remastered as a bonus CD.
