I've just finished watching the 5-hoot sleazarama black and white cult film "Who Killed Teddy Bear" which features Sal Mineo as a sex obsessed bodybuilding busboy stalking Juliet Prowse a disco record spinner bar hostess who is also being stalked by lesbian bar manager Elaine Stritch -- all being carefully observed by an equally sex obsessed NYC policeman played by Jan Murray. Gulp. The DVD was released in January by the British Co. "Network DVD" who have also released some classic Brit Soundtrack CDs. It is a fairly decent full frame print -- with some scenes obviously culled from an inferior, slightly hazy, print. Somehow I only found out about this last week and immediately ordered a copy of the DVD. One of my film holy grails now fulfilled! Joy. Joy. Joy. http://www.networkdvd.net/advanced_search_result.php?keywords=who+killed+teddy+bear&x=0&y=0 Does anything exist of the background score -- all of those groovy fruggy dance numbers? or the more aggressive orchestral angst moments? I seem to recall reading once that a 45 had been released of the title song and one of the other vocals. I want a soundtrack to Frug to! Groovy! P.S. The DVD is PAL, Region 0

That song is a real keeper, but sticks in your mind anyway. By the way, the extra on the DVD of an episode of COURT MARTIAL that Mineo guest starred on, would be interesting to see, as the series had a terrific martial theme by Frank Cordell, full of his characteristic "big" percussion.

P.S. The DVD is PAL, Region 0 Are you sure it's PAL, Region 0? Network usually have their releases set to region 2?

The new link to the Network site (wow this thread is from 2009...) does say Region 2. I pulled my DVD from the shelf -- and the DVD itself is stamped PAL Region 0 -- as is the back cover. Perhaps they changed the region code for newer copies? I'm sorry I can't answer that question with any certainty -- my region free play doesn't display what regions it is decoding unfortunately.

This film was very disturbing to me as a kid . In NEW YORK, WOR-TV CHANNEL 9 would often show this movie on FRIDAY NIGHT, a night my folks would let me stay up late because there was no school the next day. it always seemed back then channel 9 would show the more risqué films of that time on Friday nights. It was the theme and the technique of the way they showed the sleazy activities that were more disturbing then nearly any nudity could be.
