Don't really recall the score for Gremlins 2 (only seen the movie once or twice; didn't like it as much as the original), but I'd definitely go for a reissue/expansion of the first one.
What? Rhino's Poltergeist CD has excellent sound quality.
I'm sorry, but I too dislike the sound quality on this. Compare it to the movie where it sounds so full and warm and on this disc it sounds very thin and muffled IMO.
As a result, I always just rewatch the movie rather than pull out the soundtrack cd for a listen.

The score sounds all right if there is nothing to compare it to, but it sounds much richer and fuller, with a lot less hiss on both on the LP and the Blu-ray.
Considering their recent warner titles (UNDER FIRE, TWILIGHT ZONE: THE MOVIE).
Those were deals with the record labels, no? And while you could make a case for Gremlins being originally put out by Warner Bros. (the album was from Geffen, owned by WB), the sequel was from Varese Sarabande.
I would not pick up another GREMLINS 2, as I'm perfectly pleased with the existing CD, both in terms of sound quality and presentation.
However, I'd definitely look into an expanded GREMLINS soundtrack, as the selections on the songtrack doesn't quite cut it. I have the boot (as I'm sure do 90% of the other members here), but I'd definitely throw it in the bin for a legit score-only release, C&C or not.
My player in the car today hit a track from Gremlins 2 ('Pot Luck'). Just another reminder of how great these scores are. I'd totally be second in line behind the OP.

I love the errrie effect at the begining of this track. I think it is first used in the Joe Dante segment from TZ:TM.
Does anyone know what instrument was used on that effect?
