I like this score a lot too but I missed the FSM release-
any chance of this ever being a CD release again?

That little confrontation at the end . . . it's all in the music. Alf Kjellin haranguing the yanks to hand it over.

Hee, hee.

News Headlines - American and Russian humanitarian aid meets at North Pole where Russian paratroopers offer US marines free lead. US sub commander responds to Russian commander with single finger salute. Another example of US/Russian cooperation culminating in score to everyone's liking.

A few months ago, for some reason I remembered this song. Google search didn't find the lyrics, and when I asked the GPT AIs they made up answers, including lyrics.

But years ago, my aunt had a book in her piano bench with the song. These are the lyrics I remember:

The sea is calling
come listen with me.
Listen, she's singing
of all that was and yet to be

The sea can tell us
where [heroes] went wrong
The dreams of the ages
are there in her song

The mighty who've fallen,
the fools who tried to hold back the tide

The sea is calling
come listen with me
[missing 2 lines]
Oh, listen to the sea.

---
I saw the movie on the big screen and that musical phrase stuck with me for months (I was 9 at the time).
Did find the soundtrack album on Youtube, but the song wasn't part of it.

When I was in my teens I saw ISZ in Cinerama at the fabulous Cooper Theatre in Denver, sadly torn down to make way for a shopping center. On a 100 ft x 40 ft screen. It was overwhelming and the score took full advantage of the six-track surround sound. Oh, to see it again that way.

that was a wonderful old place, I was fortunate enough to see some films there, I recall seeing Hunt For Red October there, fond memories.

Thanks a lot, Barnes and Noble

I looked at the picture and it looked exactly like the Cooper Theatre in Minneapolis (OK, Saint Louis Park). Only film I remember seeing there was Lawrence of Arabia - the wide screen ride across the desert was made for a screen that big. Sadly, it too is gone.

I’d have said definitely enough to be someone’s favourite - off the top of my head White Rock (fantastic score and a favourite of mine), The Burning (a better-than-average slasher score), the latter two Harry Palmer films (not familiar with them) and I’m sure some others.

Always thought an animated King Arthur film would have been brilliant with Rick’s songs/concept score.

There's also Crimes of Passion in which Wakeman manages to make the most wholesome of classical music composers, Dvorak, sound sleazy.

And he did a really good version of 1984 with Tim Rice’s lyrics.
