I've heard this score being praised as one of the best scores Hans has ever written.

I love it. It's one of his best. I am so waiting on a legit expanded release. Would be one of my blind buys.

Just gave this a listen the other day. Really beautiful work by Zimmer, with some nice jazz tunes to go along.

It's my favorite Zimmer score. I too eagerly await an official score release.

I'm going to agree with this being a fun score. We probably have Shirley Walker to thank for this, I imagine.

Yes, it is very different and Newmanesque from Zimmer, but the big melodic pieces rescue it as authentically truly zimmeresque.

I know the film was a bit tosh but I really enjoyed the end sequence, where the older ladies playing the younger characters meet up - moving music too.

I think Zimmer captured the nostalgia and love of the game very well.

Not one of my favorites, but it surely shows how versatile Zimmer can be.

There's always this one...don't know how hard it is to find:

"The Final Game" is certainly one of the best things Zimmer's ever written. You can get it on a Cinci Pops compilation called "Play Ball" (this is a case where I'd recomend the DL route for one track...though Edelman's Angel's In the Outfield is also recommended from that)

The rest of the score...maybe it was the boot's fault but it wasn't quite as good as I thought it'd be. I may or may not buy it if it were released for real...

Love this score. Great early piece of work by Zimmer.

Would dearly love to get a legit expanded release of this (along with Thelma & Louise). Hopefully now that Paramount are playing ball these two could possibly be released.

I agree, a complete release of this would be great to have. Really fun score!

This is some of Zimmer's finest work if you ask me, well deserving of an official score release. I hope it happens.

Indeed. I haven't seen the film but the score cues on the OST are an absolute delight to listen to. A complete release would be terrific.

The Final Game cue is one of Zimmer's career highlights... stunning tour de force. Interesting tid bit- the orchestra performed that 13 minute cue in one take, matching it perfectly to the screen action, but something went wrong in the control room during recording and the cue couldn't be used. The orchestra could not replicate it again and had to record it in 3 parts...

I just praise Ala for an actual orchestra performing the score.

Actually I think we have to thank Ladd McIntosh, who is a big jazz artist.

Actually I suspect that Shirley Walker helped Hans Zimmer with the orchestral drama parts and Bruce Fowler and Ladd McIntosh (who played with Frank Zappa) helped Zimmer with the big band jazz stuff.

Baseball season is around the corner! any takers out there? LA-LA? Intrada?

Also Major League would be a great release.
