Hi everyone!

There are (at least) two scores that anybody who likes film music would like to be released on a good edition: A prayer for the dying and Slow dancing in the big city.

I've put on youtube two tracks of these soundtracks that I think wolud be the best of Bill Conti music:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M8Qzy90LeO0 "Balletto" from Slow Dancing in the big city

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ro-T-gPuBYQ "Fallon and the blind girl" from A Prayer for the dying(in this, only the first part)

Hope someday would be a good edition of both scores, see you!

Slow Dancing In The Big City was paired with FIST on the Varese Sarabande Club label a couple years back.

I love SDITBC, and APFTD is fantastic!

Did I just read someone accuse Varese of releasing a bootleg?

We really ARE in that zone place aren't we....

It's the second time today I see someone post a request for a CD release of a score that already exists. What the hell is going on? Surely it takes less than two minutes to find out whether a score has a legitimate CD release or not, especially if you're a fan of the composer!

Thirty smackers for a near mint, sealed copy at SAE.

Well worth it if you ask me... vintage Conti.

So, aside from the John Scott rejected score, has there been a CD release for Conti's Prayer for the Dying?

Just watching the film right now. Cool score although almost too big for the gritty visuals. Would almost fit better in an action flick. Interesting movie with a wacky performance from Bates.

Only a b**t, which did sound quite good though.
I can't believe this hasn't been released legit yet by Varese or Intrada, must be some sticky rights issues to navigate.
I agree, it's one of Conti's very best scores.
