Apparently this will be released in November from Singular Soundtrack, limited to 1000 copies:

SAE inaccurately list it as «first time on CD» : I wonder in what this re-release could be different from the British EMI Classics budget reissue from 2004 (apart from not featuring MURDER ON THE ORIENT EXPRESS!)... Certainly the very thin, pinched sound quality left room for improvement!

And the quote that it is the original cover isn't true.

Here's the original EMI cover:

They only rewrite Singular Soundtrack's press release notes wink

Will be getting that one!
(Will also be getting both Waldo de los Rios CDs, Singular Soundtrack just released! Can't wait for those as well!)

It figures. Just weeks after I ordered the EMI CD from England (which the vendor has yet to deliver), this remastered version emerges.

IT'S PROBABLY THE FIRST EDITION ON CD WITH THE ORIGINAL LP BRITISH COVER (THE FILM IS BRITSH, NOT AMERICAN) AND INDIVIDUAL BOOKLET. THE EMI CLASSIC EDITION IS VERY POOR FOR THIS BIG MASTERPIECE!!

RICHARD RODNEY BENNETT IS GREAT!!!

Enough with the caps. LOL

I just received this today from Quartet Records (née Singular Soundtrack)...

...and wondering why I didn't order it sooner. It's gorgeous!

(skip ahead to 3:03 for the glorious main theme)

P.S. If further incentive is needed, the CD is almost sold out and has been ridiculously discounted to boot:

And now if we can only get some more Rodney Bennett CDs, such as Nicholas & Alexandra and Yanks, for example.

I only recently discovered this score, and I LOVE it. Along w/ NICHOLAS & ALEXANDRIA, definitely my favorite RRB score I've discovered so far - anyone have any similar recommendations from this wonderful composer? His collaborations w/ Marcus Dodds (the aforementioned as well as FAR FROM THE MADDING CROWD and eerie, the still-unreleased VOICES) were always great...ditto that for Trevor Jones as well (DARK CRYSTAL, NATE & HAYES, THE SENDER).

Hope all interested parties were able to get this CD, which no longer appears within Quartet's website.

In addition to this, I still own the original LP. smile
