Has anyone read it? I think I will buy it sooner or later.

I wonder how much is written about his film music and other instrumental music that I'm mostly interested in. I'm not that interested in reading about Celine Dion and Whitney Houston.

Well, given that the Amazon.com reviews don't mention If Looks Could Kill and One Good Cop, I would have to say you're going to be very disappointed.

I'm a VERY big fan of his film score side as well. St. Elmos and especially his beautiful Stealing Home I would love some insights on that. His music and especially the love song from that are just wonderful.

I don't recall that being mentioned at all. (BTW, the book was published a year ago.)

So you have read the book?

It's really a disgrace if the book doesn't feature anything about the music he has released under his own name!?

Yes in fact I have.

Well, of course he has written a lot of stuff – songs, instrumental tracks and film scores –, apart from his gigantic main œuvre as musician, arranger and producer. The book, as I recall, is mainly about how he came into the business, and the producer role of his career.

Personally, I hadn’t expected too much, and didn’t regret reading the book. It’s not too streamlined and some of the rougher aspects of his business and his personality do materialize (without spilling any major beans). But on only 200 pages, you can’t do justice to all the individual work he’s done. And let’s be honest, film music is not what people are particularly interested in.

Well, his albums David Foster, The Symphony Sessions, River Of Love, Rechordings and Love Lights The World are not even film music, and should indeed have been mentioned in any book about the man.

Don't take "mentioned" too verbatim please; it's what I recall. For example, I just found this paragraph:

[...] I composed and recorded The Symphony Sessions, performing my own compositions with the eighty-three-piece Vancouver Symphony Orchestra. I toured Asia. I produced certain artists purely for money. I wrote and produced “Can’t You Feel It”. [...]

Just to give you the idea on the depth of coverage.

I get the point. Not so sure I will buy the book anymore.
