Just got done watching this on Fancast - this episode featured the only score for the series by Morton Stevens and it is done in his classic style...just listening to the first few minutes, or the scene where the girl is being kidnapped, you know it's a Stevens score...great stuff!!!

Such an under-rated, genius of a Composer...ENJOY!:

Yes, with the quality of this score, Mort should have done more KR episodes...:-)

Mort should have done a lot more of everything.

Yep, without a doubt...all we can hope for is that there will be more CD releases of his wonderful music on the way...:-)

You said it - WHEELS is one of my top holy Grail scores by Mr. Stevens...I still have my old, worn out VHS tape of this 1978 Universal-TV Miniseries.

I think I would pass out from over excitment if I ever saw this great, Emmy nominated score get a CD release...:-)

Here's to remembering Composer Morton Stevens, who passed away on this date (11/11/91) at age 62...much to young as he had still a lot to do...:-(

Had the pleasure of meeting Mort Stevens around the time he was scoring episodes of CBS' 'New Twilight Zone' series. One of his favorite stories was the day when Maurice Jarre came to CBS to demonstrate, with one finger, his "Cimmaron Strip" theme on Mort's office piano, Mort having the eventual task of making the main title arrangement of the tune (as he had done with the "Gunsmoke" theme when that series began filming in color). I remember asking Mort about working on "Thriller" (Revue anthology series) and making arrangements for The Boston Pops and if he had (then) heard JW's score for "Space Camp", the film having been released only a couple of months before. I also seem to recall Mort expressing admiration for Fred Steiner (one of our USC teachers at the time).

Fun memories.

Yeah, I read somewhere about the CIMMARON STRIP theme and how Mort was really the one who put that music together at the last minute - anyway, thanks for sharing.

Yesterday, I played Mort's ACT OF PIRACY/THE GREAT WHITE as well as ONE MAN JURY...really great stuff...:-)
