Great issue guys! This winter is actually 20 years from when I wrote a letter to Starlog, and the response I got led to the beginnings of FSM. Thank you for continuing the legacy -- and surpassing what we were able to do all those years ago!
I still remember the day I was idly browsing in Tower Records when an issue of FSM caught my eye for the first time. The cover story was STARSHIP TROOPERS. I was completely unprepared for the fact that there was an ACTUAL MAGAZINE dedicated to this passion of mine. It opened up a whole new world for me.
I discovered FSM thanks to the Star Wars Anthology--when I read on the booklet there was a guy named Lukas Kendall who ran a magazine about film music, I started my hunt to find FSM. I'm glad FSM is part of my life since then.
BTW, I love the new FSMO design, very classy and clear. And the contents are excellent as usual. Great work, guys! Keep it up!
look forward to the day when we get our own tv channel. you know like ESPN but for filmmusic. that'd be cool, but I think the fan base has to expand to beyond 2000 people for that to happen
I learned of FSM when I was reading the "other sources" portion of Fred Karlin's Listening to Movies. I became a subscriber that same year! I also learned of the Screen Archives and Intrada stores and remember sending away for catalogs. All of this was via snail mail, back in the day when the internet was just about to explode. I'm so glad I found FSM and the others back then... it was always a big treat when that plastic wrapped new issue arrived!
Happy Holidays to everyone at FSM and love the Documentary on Lukas and the gang... just one question, will there be a DVD available - even if it is a DVD-R release like the Complete FSM Archives Disc I will gladly buy a copy (It will sit nicely next to my copy of Finding Kraftland).

Is this just a hypothetical wish for "Finding Kraftland" on DVD, or do you mean you actually have one? Back in this thread I was curious if we'd ever see one, but was told it can't be released in that format due to rights issues - unless you have some kind of promo!:
The redesign looks great and the little tv screen is a nice touch. The "our gang" documentary is my favourite thing on there so far.
When the magazine went online I had my doubts I would go on there much, since there was a lot of info to be found on the internet for free. But slowly it's becoming a huge databank of articles and interviews and, for me, the only place to find the latest news. So keep up the good work guys!
