Not to mention it would be nice to have the film tracks of Jaws 3D released (to compliment the album version that just sold out).

More Jaws, please. smile

Seeing as Jaws 3-D is close to sold out, what are the chances of seeing new albums for the other films?

The first's original 35-minute soundtrack is in dire need of remastering, it's 25th anniversary counterpart has excessive noise reduction applied, Jaws 2 has been out of print for a ridiculously long time and Jaws 4 has never seen more than a promotional album.

JAWS - 2cd-set - remastered and cronological

cd 1 contains the entire film score

cd2 contains the album recording and includes an interview with JW about this score

Ohh boy that would be a dream come true - Intrada make my day

I'm pretty sure the album recording for JAWS 2 IS the film recording. There are just a couple of alternates employed here and there. The unreleased music can easily fit on 1 disc.

Personally, I don't like audio interviews on my score cds. (not to impede on your dream release...just sayin)

Nobody in the thread claimed that Jaws 2 wasn't the film recordings

I agree Jaws 1 (and for that matter, ROTLA and ET) need to be given the The Fury treatment

I was just day-dreaming about a JAWS 2 re-release last week with interesting results. Can anyone tell me how to post an image here?

I would LOVE to see the Jaws music released by FSM or Intrada!

Well, the 4th Jaws is utterly ridiculous in all aspects EXCEPT the score, so I don't know how I would feel about an official release. I have the promotional album and it suits me fine.

But back to the subject, I agree with the idea of having a complete and chronological score for a Jaws 2-disc set, although I always thought that the 2000 release was just that, and also had some unused cues.
Jaws 2 - The album had MOST of the score contained, but there were a few cues missing, and both of them were cues that I actually wanted to hear the MOST!:
-When Jackie is watching Timmy and Loco take Mike back to shore, there is a short cue that is simply chilling.
-The BIG BANG or whichever the finale track is called (CD & LP are stored away! Haven't seen from them in a few years!) is short about a minute and a half or so, as the moment in the film when we see the shark disappearing into the dark murky blue, there is a stoccato that is LEFT OFF! I have listened to that score left and right and not heard it AT ALL!

If there are more, please let me know!

Jaws 3, I believe, got TERRIFIC treatment from Intrada, and I am fine with it. HOWEVER!-If they were to release the COMPLETE FILM SCORE I would snatch that in a second. Always LOVED that score.

If only FSM had an in at Universal like Intrada I feel sure we'd see a Jaws Box in the same mold as the Superman Box, with the complete film and album (for 1 and 3) recordings for all four scores. I know I'd buy it.

And then there's the Airport box...

Don't forget the music where Brody steps into the waves to recover the plank from the boat wreckage, followed by the burnt cadaver. Really intense buildup on that one.

I'm satisfied with the Anniversary Edition of Jaws (aside from it being out of order), but I'd be interested in an expansion of Jaws 2. I have it already (had no idea it was such a collector's item, so I'm glad I bought it when I did), but I would gladly upgrade it to get more music.

I want an official release of Jaws 4: The Revenge by Michael Small. My favorite main title of the franchise.

Thanks for reminding me about this. Totally forgot about this title but have now managed to pick a copy up.

I think 1 is quite well served by the current release but I would love to see a newer release of 2 & 4. It's a shame that the rights for these seem to be spread over several labels as it would be great to get a complete set all from the same label

I thought it was established that the Jaws 3D album isn't a re-recording?

Watched Jaws 3D for the first time in a long time last night. I may be the only one who thinks this, but I rank it lower than Jaws 4 (both film and score). While Jaws 4 has some incredibly, jaw-dropping moments of badness...I think 3D is just consistently terrible (and it's probably the worst looking mainstream film from the past 30 years or so). Jaws 4 at least feels and looks like it belongs to the first two films.

But I digress-- I would love a remastered and complete Jaws 2 along with 4. I do think that Jaws 2 sounds considerably better than the 25 anniversary Jaws release, but both could do with some touch ups.

Oh yeah, and I second that Airport box wink

Michael,
I haven't seen Jaws 3 in awhile. Are you saying that tracks on the Intrada CD (and original MCA album) were not the same as heard in the film?

Having thought about it, I think the issue is that some scenes were recut and rescored before release, so some cues on the album are from the original version and not the final theatrical release. But the majority of the music IS heard in the film.
