Presenting the premiere stereo release of John Williams' (JAWS, STAR WARS, RAIDERS OF THE LOST ARK, SCHINDLER'S LIST) classic score to the legendary 1972 Twentieth Century Fox adventure film THE POSEIDON ADVENTURE, starring Gene Hackman, Ernest Borgnine, Shelly Winters and Red Buttons, produced by Irwin Allen and directed by Ronald Neame. Williams' epic orchestral score expertly intertwines the film's examination of heroism and tragedy. Produced by Nick Redman and Mike Matessino, mastered by Daniel Hersch, and remixed and sequenced by Mike Matessino, this superb-sounding special limited edition release features never-before-released Bonus Tracks, including the film versions of "The Morning After", source cues and alternate versions of the main title. YUK!!! YUK!!! horrible news Poseidon adventure by John Williams has to be the worst score wriiten by him... i have the LP and i did'nt like it that much.... Wish they had released something by Jerry Goldsmith This is a very unfortunate post, in my view. La-La Land works hard on delivering a major composer's art for those that are fans, and all you can muster is something negative like that? Come on -- this is a fantastic release for those who want the CD in their collection. Great job, LLL. applaud your efforts, even if everyone else don't.You made the CD you obviously wanted to make. Good for you.

Fantastic news. One of my favorite Williams themes ever! Can't wait to discover the alternates. Many thanks LLL!

I'm a little curious, though; I don't recall all the details at the moment, but wasn't FSM's copy deemed the only effort this score could benefit from? In other words, why -- now -- have the stereo masters been acquired and made into LLL's fantastic presentation?

Too bad for those who were dreaming of an expanded "Hook." Why? I'm "dreaming" of an expanded Hook and am thrilled by the Poseidon announcement. Does this release dash hopes? Or do you really think us Williams fans are so impatient? Confounded by your post.
