According to the back inlay it was recorded 1977 !! The movie is from 1972.
i know this is an old query but without looking anything up 77 possibly was the year of release of the LP. i suspect it was around this time - i dont believe the Lp came out with the film in 72.

Of the two discographies that I've checked, one lists the date of the original Citadel LP as 1976, the other puts it at 1978. I guess the 1977 date on the CD splits the difference. That still says nothing as to whether the LP's contents were from the original recordings.
cheers Bob. not that it matters exactly but i seem to recall at this time the LP being advertised by mike jones Soundtrack and general. i was at school then and i seem to recall the Lp being released after the film had received its uk tv premiere, which was usually 5 years after cinema release. im not sure if there was only 1 Lp release - the citadel one Bob refers too - or a re-release or additional pressing a year or two after the first due to the score's popularity and cult following. Anyone else remember only 1 LP release?

Sources list two Citadel LP releases: CT 6026 (one source says 6025) and CT 7012. The Soundtrack Collector website gives a 1980 date for the second of these, while the Osborne Guide says it was 1978, the same as the first release.
